Inventory accuracy
492 matched ÷ 500 counted
8 of 500 bins were off. Recount those first. Then look for a pattern by item, aisle or shift so it doesn’t repeat.
In plain words
Inventory accuracy tells you how often the computer is right about what’s on the shelf. Count a set of bins, then check each count against the system. A bin only counts as a match when the two agree exactly.
The formula
Inventory accuracy = bins that matched ÷ bins counted × 100
Why it matters
If the computer says you have 10 and the shelf has 4, you’ll promise orders you can’t ship. Every other report is only as good as this number.
