My job is to make sure the numbers are right, then make them easy to read. Here I do it for fun, with every villager in Animal Crossing: New Horizons: who they are, who players want most, and where the data disagrees with itself. Click any bar to filter the whole page. Then scroll to the end and try it with your own spreadsheet.
Data: the villager file and the Nook Market wish list behind Jesse Mostipak’s Kaggle notebook, a fan tier list, and a second copy of the villagers from TidyTuesday (VillagerDB) to check it against. Every number on this page is worked out by your own browser, live.
Six steps, in plain words. You can’t break anything, and nothing you type or open here is saved.
A tick means that part of the data looks right. An ! means look closer before you trust a number.
Pick a species, personality, hobby, month or gender at the top of the dashboard. Every chart below changes to match.
Tap a bar in the species, personality, hobby or birthday charts and the whole page filters to it. Tap it again, or press Clear filters, to go back.
Hover over or tap any bar for its number. Every chart also has Show as a table underneath.
Look up your birthday twin, press Shuffle to meet a villager, or search the full table at the bottom.
Save a spreadsheet as a CSV file and open it in Explore your own data. It stays on your device.
Before I chart anything, I look for holes, and I check that the files really fit together. These checks ran a moment ago, on this page.
Pick a filter, or click a bar. Every chart, number and list below follows the same filter.

One at random, from whoever your filters leave in.
Villager pictures are the game’s own icons and photos, © Nintendo, from the fan-made ACNH API. Each one is found by the villager’s ID in the data (the Filename column), not picked by hand.
The findings I’d put at the top of a report. Worked out from every villager, whatever the filters say.
The table behind every chart. Search it, or click a column name to sort.
Open a spreadsheet saved as CSV, and this page checks it and charts it the same way. Your file never leaves your computer. It isn’t uploaded, stored or saved, by me or anyone. Reload the page and it’s gone.
The first row should be the column names. One table per file works best.
